Dr. Garrido has a PhD in Biotechnology and Food Industries from the Institut National Polytechnique of Lorraine, France. He studied a Certification Course in Senior Executive Management (AD-2) from the Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección de Empresas, IPADE, in Mexico, and has a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Guanajuato.
He served as the general director of the Center for Research and Assistance in Technology and Design of the State of Jalisco, president of the Council of Public Research Centers, and representative before the French government of the Binational Cooperation Program for Graduate Studies; he also worked as a graduate project and program evaluator for the National Science and Technology Council (CONACYT, in its initials in Spanish).
At ITESO, he is a full-time professor in the Department of Technological and Industrial Processes, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses. At this institution, he also served as director of the Department of Economics, Administration and Marketing.
