Dr. Mendoza has a PhD in Biotechnology and Bioengineering with a specialization in Molecular Biology from the Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute (Cinvestav); a Master's Degree in Biotechnology with a specialization in Biological Control Agents from the Center for Research in Food and Development, A.C.; and a Bachelor's Degree in Biotechnological Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Sonora.
He has been a professor at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente since 2014. He belongs to the Department of Technological and Industrial Processes, where he teaches biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, and genetic engineering, among other courses. He collaborates in the Biotechnology Engineering labs on issues related to equipment, and conducts basic science and applied research.

Production of recombinant microorganisms
Proteomics.
Production and isolation of biological control agents.
Second-generation biofuels.
